Valuation Costs
Verbal assessments will usually be carried out without charge.
Written valuations are charged on an individual basis, taking into account the
time taken and the importance of the items assessed. You will be advised on
the cost of your written valuation during your initial telephone enquiry. Telephone
(01803) 813781 or
email me.
Appraisal of your items can take place in your own home, solicitors office
or bank.
You can also bring items to Bearne's Auctioneers in Torbay or Exeter, where
Jethro Marles has overseen the valuations and sales of jewellery and silver
since 1977.
Items are valued at the time of inspection, so if you wish, you can ask questions
as the valuation is being recorded.
For further information or to make an appointment, please telephone (01803)
813781 or
email me.
Your valuation document will describe in detail all items valued individually
above the threshold required by your insurance company. A brief list of all
other less valuable items will be included providing a complete inventory of
items assessed.
A photographic record can be made of all items valued in excess of the
valuation threshold and can form part of the valuation document for insurance
purposes.
A CD for use in a computer can also be provided. It will contain the
files used to generate your valuation and photographs. This means that clients
with a personal computer will be able to generate additional copies of their
valuation and the photographs as and when required. Also, updating the valuation
in the future is a much easier, less time consuming and therefore a less expensive
task. Telephone (01803) 813781 or
email me.
